Having already hung out with friends a couple of times,
Dre got the courage to ask Darlene to attend a
Colombian Go-Go Gangster 1930’s themed party in January of 2011.

Hours before they were supposed to meet up, Dre called Darlene to tell her
he wouldn't be able to make it to NY due to work commitments the next morning.

She was a little upset, but to her surprise he said,
“Instead, I made dinner reservations at Son Cubano in Edgewater, they just opened,
let’s be silly and wear our 30’s outfits and stare at people staring at us”.

Not much has changed since that day.

In December of 2015, the same friend that hooked them up, helped find the ring that fit their Colombian Art Deco taste.
